Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
From the outside, you’ve built a flawless outer shell—the polished, capable midlife woman who handles the high-powered career, manages the family, and effortlessly holds it all together. But carrying that heavy armor is exhausting, and underneath, it feels like the structure is hollow.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, respectful approach that is similar to a matryoshka nesting doll. Over a lifetime of high achievement, you’ve developed smaller, inner dolls—inner parts of yourself—that were forced into extreme, exhausting roles to protect you. You have the Responsible Leader who can’t stop producing, the Perfectionist who keeps you up at 3:00 AM, or the People-Pleaser who says yes to everyone else at your own expense.
IFS doesn't treat these parts of you as broken; it recognizes that like the inner layers of the doll, they are just trying to keep you safe. By slowly unnesting and understanding these protective roles, we can finally access the tiniest, solid doll at your absolute core—your creative, compassionate, and wise Self. From this space of inner leadership, you can teach your anxious, overachieving parts that it is safe to step aside, allowing you more space to live a life of connection, clarity, and courage.
I am a Level 1 Trained IFS Therapist through the Internal Family Systems Institute. I find that this approach gives my clients opportunities for sustainable results leaving them hopeful, curious, and confident.
